Coffman Associates prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed runway improvements at Corpus Christi International Airport. The improvements included a 1,600 fot shift to Runway 13-31 and a 600 foot shift for Runway 17-35 in order to decouple the southern runway ends. Taxiway efficiency improvements were also evaluated within the EA. Coffman Associates environmental planners worked closely with our in-house airport planners to not only justify the airport improvements, but also provide input and details regarding the suitable placement of connector taxiways. Environmental resources impacted by the project included federally-listed plant species, coastal resources, and water quality.
