The Hawthorne Municipal Airport Part 150 Study is an update of the study originally completed in 1990. Since that time, the type of aircraft and number of operations has altered the noise condition at the airport. The 2007 Airport Master Plan for Hawthorne Municipal Airport recommended the City of Hawthorne update the 1990 Noise Compatibility Study to address ongoing concerns about aircraft noise. The Noise Compatibility Plan explores the full range of options available including overlay zoning and home sound insulation so that local officials can meet the increasing aviation demand, while continuing to be a good neighbor.
