Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport, located in Mohave County, Arizona, is undertaking an update of their Part 150 study Coffman Associates prepared in 1997. Changes in operations, recent noise complaints, and development pressure in the vicinity of the airport have made the Part 150 update necessary. An evaluation of noise abatement procedures and land use strategies to ensure long term compatibility in the area around the airport was necessary. Noise compatibility planning and noise abatement techniques developed with this study have been developed prevent future noise impacts and to address existing concerns about noise. The recommendations in the Part 150 update expand the airport land use compatibility strategies developed as part of the 1997, including a recommendation to revise the local airport overlay zone.
