Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport
Mesa, Arizona
Coffman Associates was part of the SkyBridge Arizona team, a development and land use consortium planning the mixed use (aeronautical and non-aeronautical) land use of an approximately 365-acre vacant parcel at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. The site was planned to become an international air cargo hub that would house and facilitate dual international (U.S. and Mexico) customs functions. The proposed project would construct approximately 154.8 acres of aeronautical land uses, including a new taxilane and ramp, and approximately 1.33 million sf of hangar space. Also included were approximately 2.34 million sf of non-aeronautical development with 200,000 sf of research and development and 70,000 sf of hotel and retail development. Coffman Associates’ role on the team was to prepare the environmental documentation required by the FAA under NEPA.
